MQTT Client Lite App - Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: 2026-01-09.
Acceptance of Terms
By downloading or using MQTT Client Lite ("the App"), these terms automatically apply
to the User. The User should ensure they read these terms carefully before using the App.
Proper Use and Safety
The App is a MQTT Client App. The App is targeted for engineers, technical hobbyists,
and MQTT Network testers in local network. It allows users to connect to MQTT Brokers,
which can be hosted online or on a local machine (such as a PC). We do not host these
brokers, nor do we have access to the messages, credentials, or data exchanged during
these communications. The User is solely responsible for:
-
The configuration of MQTT brokers and credentials.
-
Ensuring that the messages or commands sent via the App are safe for the
connected hardware.
-
The security of the User's own network and server infrastructure.
Network Security Note: The App supports both unencrypted (Plaintext)
and encrypted (TLS/SSL) connections and data transmissions. Unencrypted (Plaintext)
mode is available for local testing, it transmits all data — including authentication
credentials (username and password) — without encryption. For all remote connections, it is strongly
recommended to enable the TLS/SSL. The App is implemented with One-Way TLS/SSL. This means the User's phone
automatically verifies the MQTT Broker’s digital identity to ensure the User is connecting to a legitimate server.
The App does not support Two-Way TLS/SSL (Client Certificates). Two-Way TLS/SSL requires
both the MQTT Broker and the User's phone to exchange digital certificates to prove their
identities, a feature which is not currently available in the App. The selection
and configuration of the MQTT Brokers used with the App are entirely the responsibility of the User.
The Developer is not liable for any interception of data, credentials, or commands resulting from the
User’s choice to use unencrypted (Plaintext) communication. While the App provides a TLS/SSL encryption
option to protect data, the decision to enable or disable this security feature rests entirely with the
User. Furthermore, while the App attempts to provide secure encryption through TLS/SSL, the Developer
provides no guarantee of absolute security. Encryption may fail due to configuration errors, server-side
issues, or unknown vulnerabilities. The App is provided "as is," and the User acknowledges that even with
TLS/SSL enabled, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed as 100% encrypted or secure. By using the
App, the User assumes all associated risks.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Developer shall not be liable for any
damages arising out of the use or inability to use the App. This includes, but is
not limited to:
-
Hardware Damage: Any malfunctions of appliances,
electronics, or any equipment controlled via the App.
-
Data Loss: Any loss of data or connection issues
with a chosen MQTT Broker.
-
Safety Hazards: Any incidents resulting from automated
or manual messages or commands triggered through the App.
No Warranty
The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The Developer makes no
warranties that the App will be error-free, that the connection to the MQTT Broker
will be uninterrupted, or that the App will meet specific hardware requirements.
Intellectual Property
The App, including its code, design, and original assets, remains the exclusive property of
the Developer. The User may not attempt to extract the source code or translate the App into
other languages without prior permission.
Changes to the App
The Developer reserves the right to make changes to the App or to modify services at any time.
