WebSocket Client - Send & Monitor App - Privacy

WebSocket Client - Send & Monitor ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is a free application. This SERVICE is provided by scikite.com ("the Developer") at no cost and is intended for use on an 'AS IS' and 'AS AVAILABLE' basis. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when an individual ("the User") uses the App.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which is accessible at https://scikite.com/ws_cli/terms.html unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

App Functionality & Technical Requirements

The App is a WebSocket Client. It can be used to test and monitor WebSocket Server. It is designed for engineers, technical hobbyists, and WebSocket network testers. Connect the App to the WebSocket Server, and then messages can be send to the Server and received messages from the Server will be displayed in the App. The App allows users to connect to WebSocket server, which can be hosted online or on a local machine (such as a PC). We do not host these servers, nor do we have access to the messages or data exchanged during these communications. All communications with these servers are controlled by the User, and the App itself does not collect, store, or transmit any of this data to us or third parties.

It is the User’s responsibility to ensure the security and reliability of any WebSocket Server they choose to connect to. We are not responsible for any data, security, or privacy issues that may arise from the use of third-party or self-hosted Servers, as the App has no control over these external systems.

To ensure the application operates correctly and provides its core features, the following technical permissions are utilized by the App:

Network Connectivity: Access to the internet and network state is utilized to facilitate connection and communication with the chosen WebSocket Server by the User.
External Interactions: External links (HTTPS and Market) are utilized to allow the opening of support pages — such as User Guide — or the Google Play Store. These actions are only initiated by direct user interaction with the App's interface.
Local Storage: The App uses local database technology to save User settings and entered data, including but not limited to, the WebSocket Server Address, Messages or Payloads, and Sent & Received Messages or Logs. This data is stored locally so that when the User closes and reopens the App, the settings and information in the App are retained. All saved settings and data remain exclusively on the User's device and is not shared with the Developer or any third parties. The User can delete this data at any time by clearing the App's data, the App's cache or uninstalling the App.

Network Security Note: The App supports both ws:// (unencrypted) and wss:// (encrypted) connections. Additional encryptions are not implemented in the App. It is strongly recommended to use ws:// (unencrypted) only inside Local Network, not for Cloud or Public Networks. The selection and configuration of the Network and WebSocket Servers used with the App are entirely the responsibility of the User.

Information Collection and Use

The App does not collect, use, or disclose any Personal Information. However, Google Play may independently collect certain diagnostic and usage data (such as crash reports, install statistics, and performance data) as part of its platform services, governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.

Log Data

The App itself does not collect log data.

Children’s Privacy

The App does not collect any personal information from users, including children under 13.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
