MQTT Client Lite App - Privacy

Effective Date: 2026-01-09.

MQTT Client Lite ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is a free application. This SERVICE is provided by scikite.com ("the Developer") at no cost and is intended for use "as is". This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when an individual ("the User") uses the App.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which are accessible at https://scikite.com/mqtt_cli_lite/terms.html unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

App Functionality & Technical Requirements

This App is a MQTT Client App. The App is targeted for engineers, technical hobbyists, and MQTT Network testers in local network. It allows users to connect to MQTT Brokers, which can be hosted online or on a local machine (such as a PC). We do not host these Brokers, nor do we have access to the messages, credentials, or data exchanged during these communications. The App itself does not collect, store, or transmit this data to us or third parties. All communications with these MQTT Brokers are controlled by the User.

It is the user’s responsibility to ensure the security and reliability of any MQTT Broker they choose to connect to. We are not responsible for any data, security, or privacy issues that may arise from the use of third-party or self-hosted MQTT Brokers, as the App has no control over these external systems.

To ensure the application operates correctly and provides its core features, the following technical permissions are utilized by the App:

Network Security Note: The App supports both unencrypted (Plaintext) and encrypted (TLS/SSL) connections and data transmissions. Unencrypted (Plaintext) mode is available for local testing, it transmits all data — including authentication credentials (username and password) — without encryption. For all remote connections, it is strongly recommended to enable the TLS/SSL. The App is implemented with One-Way TLS/SSL. This means the User's phone automatically verifies the MQTT Broker’s digital identity to ensure the User is connecting to a legitimate server. The App does not support Two-Way TLS/SSL (Client Certificates). Two-Way TLS/SSL requires both the MQTT Broker and the User's phone to exchange digital certificates to prove their identities, a feature which is not currently available in the App. The selection and configuration of the MQTT Brokers used with the App are entirely the responsibility of the User.

Information Collection and Use

The App does not collect, use, or disclose any Personal Information. However, Google Play may independently collect certain diagnostic and usage data (such as crash reports, install statistics, and performance data) as part of its platform services, governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.

Log Data

The App itself does not collect log data.

Children’s Privacy

The App does not collect any personal information from users, including children under 13.
